The Role of the Chamber

To our valued Members,

The Chamber’s role in the community is an interesting dynamic. While our first and foremost purpose is to promote business, assist our Chamber members and refer customers, we also act as the point of contact and resource for many other questions. Often times, it is a visitor looking for sight- seeing information. Other calls may be as simple as “where can I purchase yarn?” The Chamber staff does an incredible job serving the community by answering these calls and assisting each and every one.

The Chamber works closely with the Town to help promote the area. It’s an exciting time for the Chamber since it is celebrating its 60th year anniversary. The Chamber has had an important role in the community since 1948. In addition, The Town is celebrating its sesquicentennial year. (150th). Please attend the July 3rd and 4th activities this year. It will be old fashioned family fun. Please visit the Town’s link off the Chamber site for details www.danvilleareachamber.com. It’s an historical time!

We recently hosted a luncheon for the past Chairman/President of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce. Guy Greco, with Heritage Bank, was the visionary. It was wonderful to hear the exchange of experiences and we thank them for being strong leaders in the community. They will be present in the 4th of July parade.

I look forward to seeing you at the next Chamber event.
