Thank You To Our Members and Volunteers
I would like to dedicate this column to the chamber members and volunteers who go above and beyond the call of duty. As a non profit organization with a small staff, we are so grateful and appreciative of the extra time given by our members. This is especially true during our major events. We really couldn’t accomplish all that we do without others support and participation. Most recently, we had our June Fine Arts Faire as well as, the Aloha Golf tournament. I would like to mention a few that truly gave more than asked or was expected:
Peter Hawes with Danville Oaks Rugby Football Club. Peter helped from set up to clean up at both of our events. He was quick to lift a hand or serve. Scott Bigelow with WineShop at Home arrived ready to load supplies and raffle baskets at 5:00 on Sunday evening. He had not committed to help and showed up strictly out of the goodness of his heart. He had some free time and wanted to help. (wow)
Dave Cardwell with People & Properties Sotheby's International Realty generously donated numerous cases of water. When the heat wave came, he donated additional cases. Jane Macken, Coldwell Banker and husband Terry, were regularly seen at the mixers overseeing the putting games, promoting the Golf tournament, as well as, the Tiger Woods hole.
Again, these are only a few of the exceptional people who regularly volunteer. These four needed mentioning. We know that there are many other things they could be doing, versus volunteering at the Chamber. And that is why they are HEROS to us. The next time you see them, please say thank you for the gift of their time and service.
Lastly, thank you to the restaurants for their support with the Golf Tournament awards. We partnered 50/50 with gift certificates from the following: Bridges, Faz, Piatti’s, Forbes Mill, the Vine, Tower Grill and Vinoteca.
I look forward to seeing you at the next Chamber event. Together, we can make a difference.
