Summer Staycation

The Chamber with the Golden Opportunities
The summer has been filled with higher temperatures but overall, mild weather. We certainly have heard the phrase “stay- cation” used more as we faced the challenging times of our economy. However, I have seen a shift towards optimism and I hope your business has been touched positively!
The Aloha Golf tournament was a success. I want to publicly thank Joe Buenavista with Merrill Lynch for his leadership overseeing the golf committee. He serves in the community in many ways including our Chamber board, YMCA Board and is a Rotarian. He and his family continue to support the community by giving of their time. Chamber members generously donated items to the Raffle, Silent and live auction as well as sponsoring holes. What a great way to showcase their services and products. The committee tried a new approach this year with the awards. The 17 tournament winners were given gifts cards to local restaurants which is another way of stimulating the business community. Thank you to the committee, Blackhawk Country Club and of course, the Chamber staff.
Our Business Showcase is fast approaching so please be sure to look at the flyer insert or visit our website for details. Please remember to contact the Chamber with any questions about this and all of our events. They are more than willing to assist you.
It is hard to believe that it will soon be “back to school” and getting ready for fall. As a personal mission, my husband Jim and I are working on our Parkinson’s fund raiser “ Danville d’Elegance.” The car show is Sept 27th 12-5 with a pre show dinner Sat. Sept 26th.
(www.danville-delegance.org) Hope to see you there!
As we prepare for the next season, please let us know if you are interested in serving on our Board, or a committee next year. We are always looking for business leaders who want to contribute while promoting their business.
Best Regards,
