Reflect On Your Blessings

To our valued members,

Please plan to join us at the Lighting of the Old Oak Tree on November 26th. It is such a
magical evening of holiday music, decorations, lights and traditions. It’s an opportunity to kick off the holiday season among family and friends downtown. Bring your out of town guests and show them how fabulous our community is!

I know it can be a very hectic time of the year and I want to encourage you to find peace and calm during those stressful moments. Reflect on the blessings in your life. If you are running around buying gifts for family and friends, rejoice that they are in your life. The economic challenges of 2010 reminded us that nothing can be taken for granted such as our jobs, our homes and our health. Now is the time to reflect on the positives and look to 2011 with a sense of renewed hope. Remember; please support your local businesses during the holiday season. The best way to show appreciation is by supporting them! Save yourself time and stress by shopping locally and eating out at one of our amazing restaurants. It’s reinvesting into your community.

I want to thank Joe Combs, with the Combs Team, as our Chairman of the Board for 2010. He embraces every event as an opportunity to use his levity and outgoing personality to make those around him feel at ease. Joe has never met a stranger. Thank you, Joe! Likewise, I look forward to working with Kim Lindeberg in 2011. Join us in February for the Community awards and Board Installation.

Wishing you the very best this holiday season and in 2011!

Respectfully,
Melony Newman
