My roots are from rural Illinois. My father was a Veterinarian so I spent a lot of my youth being around farmers, animals and lot of corn. After graduation from the University of Illinois I moved to California and had a long career with Longs Drug Stores creating training videos and advertising promotions. Since 2005 I have enjoyed working with the town of Danville each Saturday morning; surrounded by wonderful fruits and vegetables and meeting and talking with the citizens of the Danville area. Last year the Danville Farmers’ Markets had more than a 120,000 customers. The market has been operating in Danville for 19 years.

Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association is a non-profit which operates more than fifty Farmers’ Markets in the bay area.

The mission of the Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association is to establish and operate community-supported certified farmers’ markets and other direct marketing outlets that provide: viable economic opportunities for California farmers and food producers, local access to farm fresh products, support for local businesses and community organizations, and education concerning food, nutrition and the sustainability of California agriculture.
