Maximize Your Membership

It’s not everyday that I am elected to serve as the Chairman of the Board of the Danville Area
Chamber of Commerce, so forgive me if I take a moment to thank all of those who supported my candidacy with their votes. Thank you! I really appreciate your support. It won’t be easy following the absolutely exemplary leadership role provided by Chris Edlund this past 12 months, but even
as it challenges my ability I would like you to know that you have my commitment to do the best job I possibly can for you and our Chamber.

This year I am surrounded by a terrifi c Executive Committee. Kim Lindeberg, The Lindeberg Group, has stepped up as the Chair Elect and will handle the Chamber’s fi nances and ultimately succeed me as Board Chair in 2011. Jonathan Watts, Frankel & Goldware Law Offi ces, after doing
a super job last year has re-upped as Vice-Chair of Membership. Lori Sato has signed on for another hitch as Vice-Chair of Economic Affairs and Virginia Duan, New Spring Financial Planning, our newest Executive Committee Member, has taken on the role of Vice-Chair for Promotions.
Our outgoing Board Chair, Chris Edlund, will remain active on the Executive Committee and will continue to provide guidance and support for our Chamber Board.

It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to our three new board members, Dee Thompson, Law Offi ces of Terry L. Thompson, David Miller, Ultimate Security Inc. and Rick Johnson, Rick’s Tooltime. Each of these newly elected board members has been very active in our Chamber and
is a welcome addition to our board. We are looking forward to getting to know them better as they become more involved with the daily workings of our Chamber Board.

We have an outstanding lineup of returning board members for 2010.
They include: Andrea Landsberg, Sunset Development Company, Ria Sim, TwigsStudio, Larry Marx, Diablo Country Club, Susie Wingate, CMG Mortgage Services, Inc. Darren Nicholson, Autonomic Software, Inc. and Guy Greco, Heritage Bank of Commerce. Combine all of these great folks with our professional staff of Melony, Charlotte, Debra and Martha and what a marvelous team I am blessed to work with.

In this very interesting economy we are experiencing, it seems logical to me that Maximizing Chamber Membership is a sure fi re way to grow business through networking and referrals. During our recent board retreat, I launched my annual theme, Maximize Your Membership.

I promise to expand more on this theme as the year progresses and reveal plans that the board developed during our annual planning session. I am looking forward to an outstanding year for the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce in 2010.

Warmest Reagrds,
Joe Combs
