A Busy Year
New Beginnings….For You,
Your Business, Your Community
I cannot believe that the year is half over. It has been a very busy year with lots of changes and I don’t mean the campaign slogans. We recently hosted a new and prospective Member Orientation. Thanks to Chris Edlund of Christe James Fine Jewelry Works and Karen Kehr of Smith Barney Financial Services. The member to member reward cards are something every member should be taking advantage of. Karen Kehr and Charlotte (Membership coordinator with the Chamber) have been honing in on the needs of our members. Karen Kehr is resuming her position as VC of Membership. Chris Edlund has assumed the position of Chair Elect for 2008. Thank you to both ladies for their hard work and efforts.
Our marketing committee, under the direction of Steve Wilcox of Summit Financial Group continues to move forward. They are reviewing every aspect of the Chamber’s marketing material - all important and exciting changes.
Kim Lindeberg of the Lindeberg Group, VC of Promotions is busy this time of year, too. The summer is filled with a successful Fine Arts Fair, (thank you Marcia Harmon of Cottage Jewel for Chairing the event), with the Aloha Golf Tournament fast on its heels (thank you Joe Buenavista of Merrill Lynch. Remember, even if you don’t play golf, who doesn’t like Hawaii? Come to the post tournament dinner dressed in your favorite Hawaiian attire. Or, promote your business on a hole. The exciting golf event is July 21st.
Before you know it, the Business Showcase will be here. Last year, the event moved to the Blackhawk Museum. It is September 18th, from 5:00-8:00pm It will be spectacular. The
Blackhawk Plaza is in the throes of remodeling and changing their physical image. We are excited about the changes at the Plaza.
Like I said, it’s the year of change! I am proud to serve with such a dynamic Board and business community. Our Board members want this to be the best possible Chamber for you—our members.
Warmest Regards,
Elaine Cortez Schroth
2008 Chairman of the Board Bay Building Maintenance, Inc.
