2009 has been quite a year!
To our valued Members,
2009 has been quite a year! We kicked off the year with
a well attended Installation Dinner at Blackhawk Museum. The emphasis was on our community and the need to support our local business community. We partnered with our members and the community while we faced the economic challenges together. Our Street Fairs, Golf Tournament and Business Showcase were successful. We gauge “success” by participation and attendance. We have seen much more local networking. It does my heart good to see businesses meeting each other for the first time and exchanging services. I am thrilled when people make professional and personal connections.
We proudly hosted the Tri Valley Mayors’ Summit for the first time this year. We were impressed by the attendance and participation! It was the direct result of the efforts by the Chambers and Cities. A special thank you to the Town of Danville for all their support and the Crow Canyon Country Club. Another first this year was the creative offer made by the Bay Area News group: affordable advertising rates for our members on our promotional pages in the paper. It’s been a great way to promote the Town and the Chamber. The Town is featured the first Wednesday of each month and the Chamber on the third Wednesday in the special section.
The Board of Directors continues to oversee the Chamber. They are led by dynamic people from the business community. Chris Edlund, 2009 COB, with Christe James Fine Jewelry Works has been terrific to work with. She is incredibly hardworking and dedicated to the community. She has been a terrific leader! Likewise, the Chamber has an outstanding staff with Debra Long as Office Manager, Martha Husak Events Coordinator and Charlotte Mills with Membership Services. They work well together and I am amazed at how much is accomplished by this team. Of course, the volunteers are imperative to the success of the Chamber and we cherish their contributions and time.
We are your Chamber and we rely on you to let us know what is important to you and how we are doing in your eyes.
I continue to proudly serve you and the business community.
Happy Holidays,
Melony Newman
President & CEO
