Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority
The Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority (CCCSWA) is dedicated to achieving the most environmentally sound, cost-effective integrated waste management program providing quality services for its central Contra Costa County customers.
The CCCSWA’s Member Agencies include: town of Danville, city of Lafayette, town of Moraga, city of Orinda, city of Walnut Creek, Contra Costa County (including Alamo, Blackhawk, Diablo, and unincorporated areas near Danville, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda and Walnut Creek).
We encourage recycling and waste diversion. For every pound of waste you reduce, reuse, or recycle, you will save on waste disposal costs, protect the environment, save energy and natural resources, conserve landfill space, and reaffirm your company's support for environmental programs.
To help businesses recycle, the CCCSWA has established a permit system for haulers who collect commercial recyclables. You can choose the best commercial recycler for your business from a list of current permitted commercial recyclers. You may want to contact your landlord or property manager before contracting for recycling services on your own.
Businesses can recycle:
* newspapers
* glass bottles
* aluminum (scrap and cans)
* junk mail
* white and mixed paper
* chip and cardboard
* tin
* plastics
* magazines
* telephone books
* wood
* tires
* scrap metals - ferrous and non-ferrous
* carpet padding
Although commercial recycling is currently voluntary, the economics of recycling and its cost savings to your business should provide an additional incentive.
